Java Joy was brought to Rome in October of 2020, just a week after launching in Atlanta. Our Champions, the Dempsey family, wanted to create a community for their daughter, Cade so she could grow up to see a job created just for her. After one visit to ESP, they knew they needed it in Rome.
The Next ESP
Rome is helping to show all that is possible for Java Joy and for ESP. When the Dempsey family experienced ESP for the first time, they knew they needed it in their community and Java Joy would lay the groundwork for more to come. For the last year, Java Joy has been helping to spread the joy of people of all abilities throughout the community, but it has also helped to share the need for even more resources in the area. As Java Joy has grown in Rome, it has begun providing kids with disabilities with occasional weekend activities and family dinners. These are just the beginning for Rome’s families! One day, Rome will have a full range of 360 programs including summer day camp, family support groups, respite, and afterschool activities.
